Paul Peters

___________

Paul Peters aka PHamdi is a young aspiring musician from Merseyside. It is a joy to witness Paul's passion and love for music, as I and many of his loved ones who have watched him develop as an artist can agree. Honestly, guys, I will link his music below because you will love it and won’t want to miss it!

Questions -

What inspired you to make music?

"I have always loved music from a young age. I think it is something I have just always connected with. Music is something that always helped pick me up when I am down”

Who has had the biggest influence on your career?

“Definitely my girl, she is the one who pushes me to keep writing and keep recording… especially when I feel like I am not getting anywhere." (Guys… little side note these two are the exact definition of couple goals!)

Is there anybody you look up to in the music industry?

"There are way too many to say, but to name a few I would probably say; Loyle Carner, Snoh Allegra, Tyler the Creator, Chance the Rapper, Dende, Drake, and Gunna."

Where do you see yourself in five years?

"Hopefully I will have completed university, and if I haven’t yet made it in the industry then I would like to keep at it until I do "

As a young musician, do you find many opportunity windows for upcoming young musicians and artists?

“ I suppose being an independent artist has been a challenge, it is hard to get discovered, especially with the amount of talent in this world”

Random questions...

What other hobbies do you have other than music?

“Basketball, football, and sports in general really, but recently I haven't been in touch with them.”

What series are you currently watching?

“ I have just finished watching this show on Netflix called “The Midnight Club”. It’s supernatural and follows young patients who meet up every night, specifically at midnight to tell each other scary stories.”

What is your favourite song?

“ I don’t have a favourite song, it is impossible for me to like the music itself, it's just so good. I just like the whole process of making it. So I would say it’s hard to pick one song out of the many amazing ones in the world”

What is your “go-to" dish?

“Definitely love me some curry goat or those pasta and sauce meals from the Aldi or the lidl… heavy!”

If you could go anywhere in the world right now, where would you go and why?

“I would go to my home country Nigeria. I have not been there since we left to come here in 2008, so it would be great to go back and just get in touch with my family over there and dive deeper into my culture.”

As always Paul was a pleasure to speak to. It is great to see his resilience and the sheer determination he puts into his career. There are only good things ahead… Paul Peters. Remember that name. - AAJ Xx
