I love having a routine. As much as I enjoy a spontaneous, unplanned day, having a structured routine can rest assuredly make me feel at ease. However, recently my life has been everything but structured, and sometimes that is just how things get, and if you are anything like I used to be, falling back into a routine can be a tad stressful, never mind creating a new one! So here are my favourite tips on sorting a routine beneficial to you!
1. ‘Mindlist’: This is one of my go-to apps, and it allows you to create a day planner. Step by step, time by time, I can plan my day from start to finish. This helps me to ensure everything is on track.
2: ‘MinimaList’: Using this app, you can create a checklist and tick your chores off as you go along. I added it as a widget on my home screen so I never have to forget my upcoming tasks.
3. Set small goals: Try not to overwhelm yourself with too many tasks, as it may throw you off and deter you from continuing your goals.
4: A good night's sleep: Try to include a good night's sleep into your routine, approximately 7-9 hours.
5: Try to include healthy elements in your routine; adding things such as healthy eating or a small exercise routine can improve your cognitive function, and it can also increase your dopamine and serotonin levels.

7: Unwind time without your phone: Whether you want to read a book or watch some TV, having time before bed away from your phone is beneficial for your mental health and sleep quality.
Creating a routine is a great idea if you want more structure in life. It is important to remember that not all days will be perfect and everyone has off days. You don’t have to create a perfect routine, starting with little steps can make the biggest change.
