Dear Mumma

Mummas', they wipe your tears away, and help you sort out all your difficult problems, listen to all your boy talk, support all your ambitions, and are a permanent shoulder to cry on. My mum has the wackiest style, the most carefree attitude, and a spectacular personality. Rest assured, if my mother and I are in a room and something happens, we only have to share one look to fall into an instant spontaneous pit of laughter.

I remember all the little moments we shared when I was growing up. The first time we watched ‘Breakfast At Tiffany’s’ after purchasing the dvd in the local shop, coming home from school to smell a delicious pot of scouse cooking on the slow cooker, all the laughs we have shared, and our heart-to-hearts.

However, it's not just these moments which stand out to me, it's the little things too, it’s watching my favourite movie with me whilst I'm upset, coming in my room every night for a catch-up, and our funny little code names that we have for the small silly things.

It can be so hard to realise that it’s your mum’s first go at life too, she herself is still just figuring it out and making the best out of every situation for you.. Of course, sometimes we clash, but I know with my mum I always have a best friend to turn to at the end of the day. Mother’s go beyond just being a parent, when we are younger it’s hard to understand that everything our mums do is with our best intentions at heart, no matter how frustrating it may seem.

Thank you for teaching me how to be strong, independent, present, grateful, and kind. Thank you for showing me the importance of family, of love, of never giving up. Thank you for always reminding me of my worth and not to settle for less, how diamonds ( true gentlemen) are rare so you must dig ( take your time when choosing) to look for the right one. Thank you for being my best friend. I am who I am today because of you, and I will forever be grateful for that.

Words cannot express just how much you mean to me. You're not just my mother, you're my role model, my mentor, my confidante, and my best friend. You teach me strength, grace, and love in everything you do, and I'm so grateful to have you in my life.

To you and all the mothers, thank you! Xx

I love you to the moon, the stars, and back… Lots of love always your baby always Anaiá Xx
