Gusto, Heswall
This Friday the gals and I reunited and visited Gusto in Heswall and oh my goodness it was the epitome of "good food, good friends". It's fair to say there were a lot of changes and catching up to do crammed into the eight months we hadn't seen each other for. So, when I tell you we had the biggest catch-up ever! I mean it. All food ordered was from the A La Carte menu... enjoy!
Let's start with the food. To be honest, I've been here with my family previously, but I totally forgot how delicious the food was for the tastebuds and how enticing the atmosphere was. I had bruschetta, a dish consisting of bread, olive oil, tomatoes, and basil, it's safe to say this dish is one of my Italian favourites. I can't lie. My standards were high because I can make a mean Bruschetta, but their Bruschetta exceeded my expectations. It tasted great. Guys, don't shy away from balsamic vinegar either; it will make your tastebuds dance. I swear.
I ordered the "Gustos Classic Burger" for my main course, and while I can eat onions, I have never been particularly fond of them, so it had been a long while since I had them. How those caramelized onions made me feel can be summed up in one word. Beautiful. They undoubtedly revived my long-forgotten love of onions. Additionally, they came along with a side of skin-on potato fries and they were delicious.
Finally, for my dessert, I had the Italian Gelato Ice cream, and although they had a variety of different flavors I had to go with the most appealing to me "strawberries and cream". This classic combination tasted like summertime in my mouth. I would highly recommend it.
I think it is safe to say we all had the best time and will definitely be back soon! I would also love to thank the staff as they were great, and all the food came quickly and with a smile. They truly made the experience better.
