meet us in London

On June 17th, I traveled down to London for the Tukka’23 Karate Awards, and let me tell you guys my journey and the event did not disappoint! So, in this Branch blog, I will tell you all about it.

We decided to travel the majority of our Journey via coach and the rest by train. We first arrived at the coach station at 7:30 am to ensure that we wouldn’t be late for our 8:00 am departure. Pippa and I (Pippa is one of my main gals who I train with) started our journey with a nap… around 45 minutes that was until we woke up to the sound of my dad and John opening some food behind us, of course, I could not resist those M&S yum yums! Highly recommend. After a few hours, we stopped off in Birmingham where myself and Pip could not help ourselves and just had to get a Macdonald’s breakfast and a cup of tea. We then proceeded to get back on the coach, and I started to re-read ‘Gone Girl’ I got to around forty-six pages before having a nap, which lasted till the end of our coach Journey… When I woke up we were in London!

For the next part of the journey we were heading from London Victoria Station to Epsom Downs the train ride was approximately an hour and all the four of us did was laugh. We exchanged stories, told jokes, and sang. It was perfect.

When we arrived we checked into our hotel myself and Pip went to our room, got the music on, and had a boogie. After about an hour we decided to start getting ready, we did each other’s make-up, hair, etcetera. All was going well until my hair-curling tongs decided to pack in. NIGHTMARE! We managed to get them working, however, after every few minutes they would stop. Eventually, we finished the long devilish challenge.

When we were walking towards the racecourse where the event would be taking place, we had a right laugh… Picture this- Pip and I trying to walk in heels on the grass. Thankfully there were no broken heels. (or legs). The event was beautifully executed we were allocated tables and the food was absolutely phenomenal. It was great to meet so many amazing, inspirational people from the karate industry. I and a few others received an award, it was great! The song Candy came on and guys, seriously, if you don’t know get to know. Pip and I ran to the dance floor to do it.

After the event, we went back to the hotel and packed so we wouldn’t have to in the morning. On this occasion, I didn't do much sightseeing in London, but hopefully, when I return I will be!

Thanks for reading, stay fabulous Xx
