sports massage / Muscle Therapy
Yesterday, I went for a much-needed sports massage. Now bear with me because this is going to sound technical, but I had a strain on both my lilotibial tract and my vastus medialis. To call it a sports massage does not do it the justice it deserves. Millie gets everywhere, and there were places where she felt a tension that I didn’t know was tense until she relieved it.
As Millie is massaging you, she explains what she is doing and why, and she offers you tips to prevent further injury. We also had a huge catch-up, as we hadn’t seen each other in ages! Millie is so friendly and such a fabulous person, so if you’re nervous about getting a massage, then you do not need to be!
When I first walked in, Millie gave me this gorgeous peach and mango tea, which, combined with the ambience and music of the massage room, had me relaxed straight away. As I left, I felt as though I had received more than a massage, it was a true wellness experience.
So, here are some additional tips to enhance your massage experience, courtesy of Millie herself:
Make sure to communicate with your therapist throughout the massage – be sure to let them know if you're feeling uncomfortable or if there's a specific area you'd like them to focus on.
Water is your best friend, so drink plenty of it, it also helps flush out any toxins that may have been released during the treatment.
Don't be afraid to ask questions! Millie is there to help you achieve full relaxation and relief.
Don’t consume any caffeine or alcohol afterwards
Take time to relax and unwind before your massage – try listening to calming music or practising some gentle stretches.
And finally, remember that self-care is not selfish – it's essential for maintaining both physical and mental well-being.
Mil also offers a wide range of therapies, so be sure to check out her Instagram for more information on her services! love always AAJ!Xx
